Tribal Landscape - 部落
After the devastation of Typhoon Morakot in 2009, I returned to my home town. Many houses were damaged or destroyed.
Looking back, I can see the scene of the Reinari community. Although it still looks as elegant and beautiful as my Paridrayan community, it has lost the original kinetic energy and life culture of the tribe.
Contentment with the status quo is a compromise, and in that compromise my memories of my hometown are continually disappearing. What I make is changing too - shifting in the relationships between the people and the environment, expecting compromises, dreams, a changed reality, consumerism.
My work intervenes in a different time and space. The consensus of the masses leaves us following that which fluctuates.
